Specific Core Exercises for Diastasis Recti

International Association of Dance Medicine and Science - Montreal 2019

Does your physical therapist have a specific protocol for the treatment and management of diastasis recti (DRA)?

WE DO!

I have been treating, studying, and presenting research on diastasis recti for over 20 years. First we perform an initial exam to get an idea of your strength and weakness, measure the width of your DRA, and assess your posture and alignment. We may also use ultrasound imaging to differentiate your pelvic floor strength from your abdominal strength. Fun! After manual therapy and acupressure energy work to correct imbalances, we create an individualized home program for you. Finally, we add on therapeutic pilates to our sessions to make your strengthening program that much more functional. You’ve got to be able to use that newfound strength in a multitude of situations and scenarios! We have helped so many women by giving them a newfound sense of control and ownership of their bodies.

As a mom of 2 with a personal history of diastasis, WE KNOW WHAT WORKS!
